Carrot salad

IMG_0379.JPG

I picked up some carrots at the farmer’s market this morning and came up with this salad to have with dinner tonight. Sorry, but no measurements because I eyeballed everything. Precise amounts don’t seem too critical here, anyway.

Salad:

  • carrots, chopped
  • onions, chopped
  • fresh parsley, chopped
  • craisins

Dressing:

  • juice of 1 lime
  • dollop of mustard (maybe a teaspoon, maybe less?)
  • olive oil

Combine salad ingredients in a bowl. Whisk together dressing ingredients and toss with salad.

Hot Sauce

A small batch of hot sauce to use a few hot peppers from our CSA:

  • 2 hot peppers (I used 2 jalapeño & 2 habañero)
  • 2 baby carrots
  • 1 clove garlic
  • juice of 1 lime
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Puree all ingredients together. Makes about 1/2 cup.

Mission DS106: Cooking Show

I came across Jaymie’s assignment yesterday, looking forlorn and neglected, and I knew I had to do something about it. I broke out the camera last night while I was cooking dinner, and here’s the result. I had originally intended to do a voiceover narration, but I came across a cool little tune on the Free Music Archive’s Tracks to Sync blog, and decided to see if I could get it down to about a minute and a half. I’ll add a tutorial in the next few days, also.
